What is PCOS?

A hormonal condition associated with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is prevalent in women who are fertile. It often manifests with the following symptoms:

• Hormone imbalance (high androgen levels), which causes ovulate, irregular or absent periods and infertility.
• High androgen levels excess, which causes hair growth, acne, hair loss & high testosterone levels in blood.
• Insulin resistance, which results in elevated blood sugar levels, weight gain, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.
• Chronic inflammation, which contributes to high androgen level, many of the condition’s symptoms and complications.

The condition affects an estimated 8–13% of women of reproductive age, and up to 70% of cases are undiagnosed. Unfortunately, there are many people in our family are part of this 8%-13%. My niece who living with us is going through the suffering of PCOS since she was entering high school: absent periods, serious acne and hair loss, weight gain, fatigue and chronic inflammation. Her grandmother who with PCOS did hysterectomy when she was about 40 years old and passed away because of endometrial cancer caused by PCOS at her at her 60s’ many years ago. All my PCOSKRY^® partners are PCOS-affected women, who had spent years battling hormone imbalance, irregular ovulation, blood sugar issues, weight control, and infertility. I am happy that all my partners finally got success in becoming moms after many years’ persistence.

I am delighted that I can share our stories and experiences.  We hope to help all people who have the same suffering with us and let them know they are not alone on the way of PCOS.
